WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson, PA-5, has issued the following statement, after the Senate voted to reject formal conference committee discussions with the House on a resolution to fund the government:
“At every opportunity, I have voted to move this debate forward and prevent a shutdown. When there are differences between the House and Senate they appoint a conference to work out the details. That’s elementary civics. It’s unfortunate the Senate Leader has prevented regular order from proceeding. It’s time cooler heads prevail and for both chambers to work towards fixing this impasse.”
