PennDOT Closes Five Points Bridge on Route 3014 for Repairs

CLEARFIELD – PennDOT closed the Five Points Bridge on Route 3014 in Chest Township, Clearfield County, this weekend. PennDOT had planned to perform structural steel tests Saturday and Sunday but further inspection revealed the need to close the bridge until repairs can be made. The bridge spans Chest Creek near the intersection with Route 36.

A detour around the closure is in place. From Route 3014, PennDOT’s official detour uses Route 36, Route 3006 (Westover Road), and Route 3001 (Ridge Road).

Crews from Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College will perform the repairs, which could take until November. PennDOT will re-open the bridge sooner than November if work progress allows. The detour will remain in place during the time of repair. All work will be weather and schedule dependent.

PennDOT reminds drivers to follow detour signs, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.
