TYRONE – Event attendees will celebrate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month at an International Tea hosted by the Breast Cancer and Women’s Health Institute of Central Pennsylvania (BCWHI).
The International Tea will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Oct. 27in the main lobby at the new Tyrone Health and Wellness Building located on the Tyrone Hospital campus at 154 Hospital Dr. in Tyrone.
Event attendees will learn about the importance of breast health while enjoying tea and appetizers.
The tea will feature an educational presentation on breast health and breast cancer presented by David Arbutina, M.D., FACS, medical director of the BCWHI. Highlights of Arbutina’s presentation include the importance of breast examinations, measures women can take to check all aspects of breast health and where to turn if you are diagnosed with breast cancer.
The tea will include three unique and specialized teas, presented by John Doyle, owner of the Tea Merchant 101 in Duncansville. Tea will be served by volunteers from the Grier School.
There will be specialized appetizer selections presented with each tea. In addition to tea and appetizers, there will be a silent auction of gift baskets provided by local businesses, as well as live music.
