Mae Johnson, 90, of Allport died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at her residence. Born Jan. 14, 1923 in Morrisdale, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Violet Bell Campbell.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Gethsemane United Methodist Church. She worked at the cigar factory in Philipsburg. She was also a beautician, a homemaker and a mother.
She married Carl H. Johnson on March 27, 1943 in Morrisdale. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2000.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Caryl Wary and her husband, Donald of Warren and Karen Coulter of Allport and one son, Clayton Johnson and his wife, Barbara of Houtzdale.
She’s also survived by seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Nadia Sudik of Drifting.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Campbell, a sister, Norma Campbell and an infant sibling.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with Lay Minister Don Dinant officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
