Man Flown to Altoona after Boggs Twp. Accident

BOGGS TOWNSHIP – A 21-year-old Houtzdale man, George A. Daniel Jr., was flown to the Altoona Hospital after a single-vehicle accident Saturday night at the intersection of Albert Run Road and the Old Erie Pike in Boggs Township, reported the state police at Clearfield.

Daniel was traveling westbound on Albert Run Road and failed to stop at a posted sign. He proceeded through the intersection and struck an embankment on the south berm of the Old Erie Pike. After impact his vehicle continued south into the woods, impacted a tree and then spun about 190 degrees. Daniel’s vehicle came to a final rest about 20 feet off the roadway.

Daniel was transported from the scene via ambulance and then taken by helicopter to the Altoona Hospital. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and sustained injuries of an unknown severity, state police said. Daniel’s vehicle was towed from the scene.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Philipsburg Fire Department and Clearfield Emergency Medical Services.
