BROCKWAY – Pennsylvania State Police officials have confirmed a state trooper from DuBois was shot and critically wounded while serving a warrant Thursday afternoon on Cemetery Hill Road just outside of Brockway in Jefferson County.

“We were watching television when all of a sudden we heard gunfire,” said Judi Billock, a resident who lives nearby. State police officials confirmed the suspect was still barricaded inside the residence at press time.

The scene of the shooting has been contained, and there isn’t any danger to the public, said Deputy State Police Commissioner Lt. Col. George Bivens.  Law enforcement officials expected to remain at the scene overnight and into Friday morning.

State police officials have neither released the name of the trooper nor the shooter.
