WJAC-TV: Schools Locked Down during Standoff in Brockway

6-story-graphicBROCKWAY – The standoff after a state trooper from DuBois was shot prompted the extended lock down of the Brockway Area School District.

“I freaked out, grabbed everything and went down to the school,” said Billie Jo Randall, who has two children in the district. Her son, A.J. Bingham, added, “An announcement came on saying, ‘close the blinds, turn the lights off and just sit there.”

Bingham, a high school student, said they learned about the ongoing shooter situation by watching the news.

Students were released from school after 6 p.m. Thursday.  With the standoff ongoing at press time, it’s unclear if classes will be held Friday.
