Five Points Bridge to be Closed for the Weekend

Detour will be in place

CLEARFIELD – Structural steel testing will take place this weekend on the Five Points Bridge in Chest Township and the bridge will be closed Saturday and Sunday.

The bridge spans Chest Creek near the intersection with Route 36. The testing is being done in anticipation of future repairs/improvements to the bridge.

A detour around the closure will be in place. From Route 3014, PennDOT’s official detour will use Route 36, Route 3006 (Westover Road), and Route 3001 (Ridge Road).

Crews from Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College will perform the testing underneath the bridge. All work is weather and schedule dependent.

PennDOT reminds drivers to follow detour signs, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.
