Mother-Daughter Pink Ribbon Dinner Slated

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month Event

TYRONE – Mothers and daughters of all ages are invited to attend a “Mother-Daughter Pink Ribbon Dinner” in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The dinner will be held from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Oct. 15 at Epworth Manor’s personal care building located at 925 S. Lincoln Ave. in Tyrone.  The event is co-sponsored by Epworth Manor and Tyrone Hospital’s Breast Cancer and Women’s Health Institute of Central Pennsylvania (BCWHI).

The event includes dinner, door prizes and an educational program on breast health and breast cancer. A portion of the educational program will be geared toward adolescent girls to help develop early awareness of breast health. Women are invited to bring their daughters, granddaughters or nieces for what will be a valuable shared learning experience.

Two educational speakers will be featured. David Arbutina, M.D., FACS, medical director of the Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute, will provide an overview of breast health and breast cancer.

Lannette Johnston, MS, BSN, RN, CHC, iRNPA, Director of Outreach Programs at Tyrone Hospital, will present breast health information geared toward adolescents.
