DuBois Man Headed to Trial in Statutory Sexual Assault Case

DUBOIS – A DuBois man will stand trial for having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

Ronald Bruce Fraiser Jr., 23, of 32 Tinkers Rd., DuBois, is charged with eight counts of statutory sexual assault and one count of corruption of minors. After a preliminary hearing, Magisterial District Judge Patrick Ford dismissed seven additional counts of corruption of minors. Fraiser is free on $50,000, bail.

The hearing was closed to the public and media as the victim testified. There was also brief testimony from Officer Stephen Bilunka of the Sandy Township police.

According to information contained in the affidavit of probable cause, in September of 2012, the victim’s father reported to police that his daughter had become pregnant after having sex with Fraiser, who was 22 years old at the time.

When the officer spoke with the victim she said they had sex at least eight times during July and August of 2012. She stated she told him how old she was at the time of the acts, which occurred in Sandy Township. He told her she was more mature than most girls her age, she was very beautiful and he wanted to be with her. They couple used condoms but during one of the acts, the condom broke, she said.

Toward the end of their relationship, they had an argument about the possibility of her being pregnant because he was worried about going to jail. When she tried to contact him to confirm her pregnancy he shut off his phone and quit his job as a maintenance employee at Treasure Lake. He left the area in an attempt to elude his parental responsibilities and the criminal acts he was involved in, the complaint states.
