DelGrosso’s Harvestfest Slated for this Weekend

TIPTON – The temperatures are dropping, the leaves are changing and autumn is in the air.  The area’s premier fall festival is gearing up for another exciting season finale at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.

Harvestfest takes place Saturday and Sunday.  The park grounds open at 8 a.m., craft and food vendor shopping begins at 10 a.m. and the rides open at 11 a.m. both days.  A $5 admission includes rides and entertainment.

Harvestfest will feature more than 150 craft and food vendors.  Fall food favorites like ham and bean soup, apple butter, apple dumplings, pierogies and much, much more are all on the menu.

On the main stage, the Harvestfest visitors will be entertained by the Comedy Pet Show with performances at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday and then 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday.

Kids can try their luck at being a game show star at the Kidbuck$ Game Show stage located on the midway.  Shows will take place at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. each day.

Local artist Dennie Huber will entertain with magic and balloons near Murf’s Kitchen at 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day.  Magician and Strolling Entertainer Richard Benninghoff will be performing from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. both days at the festival.  For Harvestfest visitors who like to visit with four legged friends, a petting zoo is also going to be set up in the park.

History enthusiasts can take a walk back in time by touring the Civil War Encampment located at the Tipton Creek Railroad area in the park.  Cannons will signal the start of the shows each day at 12 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

“This fall festival is a showcase for fantastic food, creative crafts and wonderful entertainment,” says Carl Crider Jr., general manager and president of DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.  “We will have wood carvers, pumpkin decorating and even an antique car show on Sunday.  Harvestfest has a little something for everyone.”

The state Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has reported that the bridge construction work off of Exit 41, which detoured park traffic all summer, will be finished this week.  The bridge is re-opening around 12 p.m. Friday.  Harvestfest visitors will be able to reach DelGrosso’s Amusement Park from Exit 41 and Exit 45 from Interstate 99.
