Clearfield Hospital Invites Women to Breast Health Program

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Hospital is joining 70 other Spirit of Women hospitals across the country, including DuBois Regional Medical Center, and hosting a fun, whimsical and information-filled event called “An Enchanting Affair.”

On Oct. 8, the hospital will welcome women to teach them how to stay on top of their breast and overall health through screenings and assessments. The event, which will be held at the Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club, begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m.

Ruth Modzelewski, mission coordinator for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, will be the featured speaker. Darlene Rowles, imaging supervisor for Clearfield Hospital, will also give a presentation.

This informative event is designed to move women toward better health and vibrant living by providing education in a fun and fanciful fashion. Those attending will also enjoy light refreshments, a wine tasting and an art show featuring works by Susquehanna River Art Center artists.

“An Enchanting Affair” is Spirit of Women’s fall signature event and has been educating women for 8 years and gaining momentum. The host hospitals, in cities all over the United States, are working toward the same goal – inspiring and empowering women to see their healthcare provider each year and get the appropriate/recommended screenings and assessments.

Although the primary goal of “An Enchanting Affair” is to educate women about making informed decisions about their health, it is the action steps following the event that are the real first steps on their journey to good health. In 2012, 45 percent of attendees made an appointment with a healthcare provider and 70 percent said that they were going to make a lifestyle changes as a result of what they learned.

“An Enchanting Affair” is organized and hosted by Clearfield Hospital, a member of the Spirit of Women Hospital Network, with support provided by DuBois Regional Medical Center.
