- An accident occurred Friday on the Shawville Highway in Bradford Township. One vehicle was traveling south while another driven by Danielle E. Balum, 20, of Philipsburg was traveling north. Further, a metal object came off of the southbound vehicle and struck the windshield of that driven by Balum. The vehicle didn’t stop, and Balum’s vehicle sustained damage to its windshield and sun roof. Both Balum and her passenger were wearing their seatbelts and not injured. Balum’s vehicle was towed from the scene, and the operator of the other vehicle isn’t known.
- Moderate injuries were reported after an accident Sunday on McCartney Road in Bigler Township. Veronica A. Richards, 19, of Houtzdale was traveling south when she lost control of her vehicle and exited the right berm of the roadway. After that her vehicle struck an embankment and overturned. She sustained moderate injuries and was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. Richards was cited for failing to drive on roadways laned for traffic.
