Area 4-H Robotics Team to Host Open House & Information Night

DUBOIS – The 4-H DEADLOX 4484 of Clearfield County will host an open house and information night at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25 in Room 209 of the DEF Building at Penn State DuBois Campus.

Light refreshments will be served.  Parents or guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The 4-H DEADLOX 4484 is in seek of motivated and dedicated high-school aged teens from throughout Clearfield County to be part of their 2014 FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) team.  In addition to building a robot, teens with an interest in computer programming and marketing skills are greatly needed to make a successful team.

Starting in October, the team will begin planning and strategizing for the upcoming season.  The robotics season will officially begin Jan. 4 at the annual FRC kick-off in Pittsburgh, where the 2014 game challenge will be revealed.

In addition to youth members, the team also welcomes interested adults to serve as mentors and businesses interested in serving as team sponsors.  All donations are tax deductible.

The 4-H is a non-formal youth development educational program of Penn State Extension for all youth between the ages of 8 and 19, regardless of age, ancestry, color, disability or handicap, genetic information, national origin, race, religious creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status.  For additional information on 4-H or the safety day program, contact Jana Davidson at Penn State Extension in Clearfield County at 814-765-7878, Ext. 3.
