Lois Belle Bennett, 87, a resident of Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of Curwensville, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at the nursing center.
Born Feb. 18, 1926 in Mahaffey, she was the daughter of Dayton W. and Estella (Miller) Lines. She was a seamstress at Kent Sportswear and also Parachute Factory Sheertex.
She was United Methodist by faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Dixon and her husband, William of Hyde; three grandchildren, Lisa Wriglesworth and partner, Suzanne Boyea, Angela Steiner and husband, Jake and Traci Stiles and husband, Ron; five great-grandchildren, Taylor O’Dell, Shayla O’Dell, Patrick Collins, Brett Collins and Katherine Stiles; four step-great-grandchildren, Carson Steiner, Hayden Steiner, Robert Stiles and Leann Stiles; and a brother, Donald P. Lines of Gulf Breeze, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dugan Bennett, whom she wed on July 7, 1945; a brother, Charles G. Lines Sr.; and a sister, Betty Aikins.
Funeral services for Lois Bennett will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with Mr. Gary B. Jewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
