Michael James Spencer, 53, of Clearfield, and formerly of Grampian, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at his residence.
Born July 3, 1960 in Rochester, NY, he was the son of Donald and Joanne (Leonard) Spencer. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Am Fire Coal Co. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and attended Faith Bible Church in Lumber City.
On June 19, 1982 he wed the former Teresa Olinger, who preceded him in death Jan. 11, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Spencer Jr.; and two nephews, Matthew Prisk and Donald Hale
He is survived by a daughter, Tiffany Spencer and her fiancé, Fred Dixon of Curwensville and two granddaughters, Kaylee and Miley Dixon, both of Curwensville.
Also surviving are four brothers and sisters, Mona Coulter and her husband, Thomas of Curwensville, Sherry Prisk of Regalsville, Susan Bowman and her husband, Jeffrey of Sanford, NC and Joseph Spencer and his wife, Dana of Gazzam; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Spencer will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in the Friends Cemetery in Grampian.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville.
