- The investigation is continuing into the alleged rape of a 19-year-old woman. Further, the woman contacted police Monday and reported she was raped by a known individual.
- On Monday a Brockway woman reported she left her purse and vehicle at a friend’s residence. Her vehicle was found on fire in Lawrence Township.
- An Emporium man reported Monday that he’d received a fraudulent check for an item he attempted to sell online. The check, he told police, was worth three times the asking price. He was directed to cash the check and forward the balance to a third party. Police would like to caution the public that this is a scam, and you should neither accept checks worth more than the asking price, nor forward cash. Also, police have suggested that you verify cash with your bank before using it.
- Police responded to a two-vehicle accident Monday at the intersection of South Main Street and West Spruce Alley. A 21-year-old DuBois man and a 52-year-old DuBois man were not injured, and their vehicles were driven from the scene after the accident. However, the first DuBois driver was cited for a registration violation.
- On Monday a Coke Hill resident reported that a known individual had entered his home without his permission and taken a bath. The resident didn’t want charges filed at this time.
- A South Brady Street man reported Monday that he’d received harassing phone messages and Facebook posts. He wanted to report the incident in case there were future problems.
- A 28-year-old DuBois woman reported Monday that sometime over the weekend, someone used her debit card to withdraw $700 from her account. Police are working with the woman’s financial institution to identify the suspect. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- On Tuesday police responded to an apartment building for excessive noise in the 300 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival police couldn’t locate any excessive noise.
- An East Logan Avenue resident reported Tuesday that she’d observed suspicious activity around her home. Upon arrival police found area residents who were walking their dogs but didn’t locate anything suspicious.
- Police responded to the 100 block of Olive Avenue on Tuesday, where a vehicle blocked a resident’s driveway. The owner of the vehicle couldn’t be located, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
