Obituary Notice: Theodore E. Lansberry

Theodore Edgar “Ted” Lansberry, 87, a resident of the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of Clearfield, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at the center.

Born Dec. 16, 1925 in Clearfield, he was the son of Earl Edgar and Mable V. (Ball) Lansberry.  He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Clearfield.

Mr. Lansberry was retired from Harbison-Walker Refractories in Clearfield after 20 years of service as a dry press operator. He was a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific Theater.

He was a former member of the Clearfield American Legion, the Frenchville VFW, the Clearfield L.O.O.M. and the Clearfield F.O.E.

Surviving are a niece and three nephews, Jackie Day and her husband, Bob E., Merle “Sid” Lansberry and his wife, Anita and David Lansberry and his wife, Vicki, all of Clearfield, and Dean Lansberry and his wife, Linda of Curwensville as well as several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Nada Lee; and a brother, Donald Lansberry.  He was the last member of his generation.

At the request of Mr. Lansberry, there will be no public visitation and services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Clearfield.
