CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Charitable Foundation recently presented a $1,000 grant to Central Pennsylvania Community Action to help fund their Carnation Instant Breakfast Program.
The program assists individuals with health issues that can cause nutritional deficiencies. This includes cancer patients, diabetic patients from the wound clinic, pregnant women and seniors.
CPCA has been providing the program for more than 10 years. Unfortunately with budget cuts, the pantry has had to rely on privately donated funds to purchase this product. They serve approximately 25 individuals per month and the goal is to supply two to four boxes for each participant. CPCA is continuing to seek additional funding to supplement this budget and thanks to the CCCF for their contribution.
The grant comes from money held by the foundation in its Community Fund. This fund represents an endowment established for the specific purpose of making grants to worthwhile projects benefiting Clearfield County communities. The foundation accepts donations to the Community Fund at any time during the year.
Established in 2004, the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation is one of more than 300 community foundations in the United States, and its purpose is to enhance the quality of life in Clearfield County through the support of services that promote health, education, social welfare, public and urban affairs, arts and culture, conservation and the environment.
