Bruce Milton Amon, 93, of Woodland died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Born July 26, 1920 in Croft, he was the son of John and Zanna (Watson) Amon. He was United Methodist by faith.

Mr. Amon owned and operated Amon Trucking for many years.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Clearfield American Legion Post 6 and the Clearfield Lions Club. He was a past board member and past four-term president of the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging.

On Dec. 24, 1946, he wed the former Sophie Zebrun, who preceded him in death June 13, 2005.  He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are two sons, Larry Amon of Clearfield and John Amon and his wife, Connie of Woodland. Also surviving are four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a brother, Donald Amon of San Antonio, TX.

Services for Mr. Amon will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield, with the Rev. Dr. Duane A. White officiating.  Burial will be in the Eden Cemetery, LeContes Mills.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of services Friday at the funeral home. Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Clearfield Honor Guard.
