Thomas M. Plisco, 70, of Winburne died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 in Winburne. Born Oct. 18, 1942 in Patterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Bungo Plisco.
Mr. Plisco was affiliated with the Protestant faith. He was a 1961 graduate of the West Branch High School. Mr. Plisco was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served from 1961-65 and then in the reserves.
He was a chief inspector for the state Department of Transportation from 1966 until 2001. He was a member of the Mosquito Creek Sportsmen’s Club, Frenchville.
He was married to Brenda S. Anthony Plisco on Dec. 21, 1963 in Eustace, TX. She survives in Winburne.
Mr. Plisco is survived by two sons, David L. Plisco and his wife, Sherry of Philipsburg and Mark T. Plisco and his wife, Donna of Winburne and five sisters, Rose Kephart and her husband, Denver of Winburne, Francine Reise and her husband, Jack of British Columbia, Canada, Patti Scherer of Kent, Ohio, Mary Kay Given and her husband, Tim of Warren, Ohio and Nancy Anderson of Las Vegas, NV.
Surviving are five grandchildren, Erica Plisco, Carrie Plisco, Spencer Plisco, Emma Plisco and Zane Thomas Plisco and one great-grandchild, Peyton Lidgett; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are step-brothers and step-sisters, Samuel Kephart of Las Vegas, NV, Jean Penque of Niagara Falls, Norma Coudriet of Winburne and Norman Kephart of Philipsburg.
Mr. Plisco was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Michael; a sister, Marsha; step-brothers, Ezekial Kephart and Oscar Kephart; a step-sister, Margaret Kennedy; and a great-granddaughter, Jayden Plisco.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with the Pastor Matt Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Messiah Baptist Cemetery, Kylertown.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
