Evelyn L. (Shedlock) Tokarcik, 84, of Morann died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013 at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.
She was born Dec. 16, 1928, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Pilla) Shedlock.
She was a 1946 graduate of the former Madera High School and was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale. She also was a member of Christ the King Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of the America’s St. Victories Court #646, Houtzdale.
She was a homemaker and also worked as a cook at the Christ the King Center for varies affairs.
On Sept. 29, 1951 in the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Houtzdale, she married Leonard “Ben” Tokarcik. He preceded her in death June 25, 1990.
She’s survived by a son and daughter, Larry Tokarcik and his wife, Susan of Severn, MD and Karen Hansel and her husband, Richard of Houtzdale. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Brian Tokarcik and his wife, Lauren, Sara Hansel, Elizabeth Palmer and her husband, Shaun, Lisa Harris and her husband, Willie and Maggie Hansel.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, George, Steve, Joseph Albert and Mike Shedlock and four sisters, Mary Keith, Anne Zabec, Helen Whitehead and Carolyn Hartz.
She enjoyed making homemade rag carpets and working in her flower garden.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 – 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Ramey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Fr. Stanley J. Swacha as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Brisbin.
