- An incident of fraud was reported to police Monday. The victim told police she attempted to find a loan agency online. Then, a man called her and asked for a $250 deposit for her to receive the loan, and she sent him money. After that she was contacted to send another $684, which she did not. Police are investigating the incident and reminding people not to send money or to provide personal information without confirming the business and its representative.
- An incident of burglary occurred Monday at a residence in 400 block of Hubert Street. The victim told police when he returned home from work he noticed things missing from his residence. In addition, the window to his daughter’s room appeared to have been tampered with, and he believed that’s where entry was made. Police have potential suspects, and the investigation is continuing.
- Unwanted persons were reported at a residence in the 800 block of DuBois Street. Upon arrival police were advised the persons were locked in a bathroom. Police could hear the shower on and knocked on the door, at which point they didn’t get any response. After getting the door open, police found the shower on, but there wasn’t anyone in the bathroom. Police searched the residence but didn’t locate anyone.
- On Monday police conducted 16 traffic stops, issued two citations and four written warnings.
