Obituary Notice: Frances Orwick

Frances Orwick, 88, of Philipsburg and formerly of Morrisdale, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.

She was the daughter of the late Gurnee and Elsie (Yingling) McClellan, born March 10, 1925 in Philipsburg.  Her husband, Roscoe H. Orwick preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1970.

Mrs. Orwick was a member of the First Church of Christ in Philipsburg and attended the Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Allport.  She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Auxiliary, Aerie #812, Clearfield; and the Aster Rebekah Lodge #177, IOOF.

She was a former state officer in the Rebekah Lodge and a member of the Valley Voices of Philipsburg.

She was employed with Charles Navasky & Co. in Philipsburg until her retirement.  She attended the former Philipsburg High School.  And she enjoyed quilting, sewing ceramics and singing.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward (Bugger) Orwick; a grandson, Michael Denochick; a great-grandson, Brandon Denochick; three sisters, Ruth Ellen Miller, Mary Snyder and Betty Bell; and five brothers, Glenn Yingling, Clarence Yingling, George McClellan, Andrew McClellan and Nathan McClellan.

Mrs. Orwick is survived by  two daughters, Jane Green and her husband, George of Clermont, Fla. and Susan Denochick of Morrisdale; two sons, Alfred (Dom) Orwick and his wife, Tonya of Howard and John (Smoke) Orwick and his fiancée, Robin Leigey of Morrisdale; a sister, Lena McClellan of Philipsburg: 13 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Maxine Orwick of Morrisdale and her two best friends, Edie Brown of Clearfield and Jeff Ennis of Morrisdale.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be at the Allport Cemetery in Allport.

The funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 179 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, PA.
