Clearfield Man Accused of Raping Child

CLEARFIELD – Ronnie Clinton Bass, 20, of Clearfield is facing charges for rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age and indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age.

At 12:46 a.m., Clearfield Borough police were dispatched for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival police found Bass had allegedly been observed assaulting a 4-year-old child.  When questioned by police, Bass admitted to the offenses.

Bass was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Hawkins.  His bail was set at $250,000, police said.
