- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime Wednesday or Thursday on Main Street in Cooper Township. During the incident, someone threw eggs at the victim’s 2008 Mercury Mariner. The eggs caused $1,000 worth of damage to the paint and metal on the vehicle. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Clearfield-based state police at 814-857-3800.
- Minor injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident Thursday on Rolling Stone Road in Covington Township. A 17-year-old Winburne girl was traveling southbound when her vehicle left the roadway. She overcompensated while bringing it back onto the roadway and again going back off the roadway. The girl’s vehicle then traveled sideways and overturned approximately three times before coming to a rest in the southbound lane on its driver’s side. She was able to climb out of the vehicle on her own. She was cited for the accident. State police were assisted at the scene by the Karthaus Volunteer Fire Department and Karthaus and Moshannon Valley emergency medical services.
- Moderate injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident Monday on the Shawville – Frenchville Highway in Girard Township. Noah I. Yoder, 34, of Frenchville was traveling westbound and downhill when the rear drive train locked up on his vehicle. His vehicle’s rear wheels locked up and began to slide off the northern edge of the roadway. Yoder’s vehicle then struck the guiderails with its front end and rotated approximately 180 degrees clockwise. His vehicle struck the guiderails again with its rear end and continued to rotate before overturning onto its roof. The Yoder vehicle slid on its roof a short distance and came to a rest, facing east and blocking the westbound lane. State police were assisted at the scene by Clearfield Emergency Medical Services and the Clearfield, Karthaus and LeContes Mills fire departments.
