ALTOONA – Altoona resident Meghan E. Kemp was one of three students who completed a nine-month Nuclear Medicine internship at UPMC Altoona as part of the University of Findlay (Ohio) nuclear medicine technologist degree requirements. The other graduates were Rebecca Kifer of Lewistown and Cieara C. Carter of Philadelphia.

Kemp is the daughter of Jack and Amy Kemp. Kifer is the daughter of Jane and Ronald Kifer. Carter is the daughter of Cynthia Waller and Willie Carter.

With the 2013 Findlay graduates, Drew Appleman and the Nuclear Medicine team have instructed 22 Findlay interns. All 19 eligible previous interns have passed the national board examination to become registered nuclear medicine technologists. This year’s class takes the examination in September.

This credentialing exam signals to potential employers and the public that the technologist meets or exceeds proficiency standards in knowledge and performance within the Nuclear Medicine field.
