- The investigation is continuing into a hit-and-run accident that occurred Monday on the Bloomington – Glen Richey Highway in Pike Township. The operator of a pick-up truck exited the roadway while negotiating a right-hand curve. After that the truck struck a tree, which caused it to overturn onto its driver’s side and come to a rest in the middle of the roadway. The operator then fled the scene; their truck sustained severe damage. The truck was towed from the scene.
- An alcohol-related, single-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday on state Route 53 near Powell Street in Morris Township. A 24-year-old Osceola Mills woman was traveling westbound and lost control of her truck, causing it to leave the roadway via the north side. There, she struck steel beams and rocks. She was not wearing her seat belt; she was treated for minor injuries and released from the Clearfield Hospital. Charges of DUI will be filed through the district court pending the results of blood tests. The woman was lodged at the Clearfield County Jail due to being intoxicated.
