New Millport Bridge to Open Tuesday

Detour will be lifted after bridge is open

CLEARFIELD – The new bridge in New Millport will be opened Tuesday. The bridge spans Carson Run on Route 2012 (Douglas Road/Old Station Road) in in the village of New Millport, Clearfield County. PennDOT expects to have the bridge open before 12 p.m. Tuesday.

The new bridge will provide area travelers with a smoother, safer ride over a modern structure. Once the new bridge is open to traffic, PennDOT will lift the detour that has been in place since mid-June. PennDOT is more than a month ahead of schedule in opening the new bridge.

There will be some daylight traffic control for the remaining cleanup and landscaping work, which is expected to last through September. Overall work has included placement of a new box culvert, roadway paving, guide rail updates and drainage improvements.

M & B Services of Clarion is the contractor on this $350,000 project. PennDOT thanks area drivers for their patience during this closure and reminds drivers to obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
