Woman Sustains Head Injury in Motorcycle Accident

TAYLOR TOWNSHIP – A Houtzdale woman was transported to the Altoona Regional Trauma Center after a motorcycle accident Friday on the Tyrone Pike in Taylor Township, reported the state police at Philipsburg.

Thomas G. Lumadue, 62, of Houtzdale had stopped on the side of the roadway. He and his passenger, Linda D. Lumadue, 60, also of Houtzdale, were leaving the parked position and attempting to enter the Tyrone Pike. However, Thomas Lumadue lost control of his motorcycle on the dirt shoulder, and it fell onto its right side.

At that time, Linda Lumadue fell from the motorcycle and slid down into a ditch, and struck her head. She was taken to the Altoona Regional Trauma Center for a head injury. Thomas Lumadue wasn’t injured as a result of the accident. Both were wearing helmets, state police said.
