M. Lorraine Stewart, 72, of Clearfield died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital. She was born Aug. 15, 1940 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Paul and Jean (Blair) DeVore.

She prepared income taxes most of her life while also working in many, different vocations over the years. She was employed at the former GC Murphy Co. She worked as a dispatcher for the fire department and police station as well as for the 911 center.

She served as the meter maid. She worked at the Shawville Power Plant. And, she operated Stewarts’ Quick Print and Stewart’s Ceramics. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, cooking, gardening and reading. In addition, she served as a Girl Scouts leader.

She was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Her greatest love and passion was her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

She is survived by five children, Ralph Hoffman of Texas, Betty Daniels and her husband, Gary of Clearfield, Linda Bowman and her husband, Dean of Berwick, Rose Ann Eckrote and her husband, Frank of Twin Falls, ID, and Melanie Warholic and her husband, Frank of Madera; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also one of six children and her siblings are Melvin, Donald, Sue, Betty and Yvonne.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Stewart on Nov. 20, 2004 and whom she wed Aug. 15, 1981 in Clearfield. She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Joshua Hoffman and Ryan Eckrote and a great-granddaughter, Bristol Cullimore.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday at the funeral home.
