CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc., its Centers for Active Living, and co-sponsor Colonial Courtyard of Clearfield, has finalized plans for the annual Summer Celebration.

The event will take place Aug. 20 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Florian Banquet Center, 321 Mill Rd., Clearfield.  Doors will open at 10:30 a.m.  Individuals 50 years of age and older should especially enjoy this event.

This year’s theme will be “Under the Big Top.”  Music will be provided by The Vagabonds with a special appearance by two unique guests, Bubbles and Stitches the Clowns.  Games, plenty of door prizes, lots of fun and lots of clowning around will be the order of the day.

A festive lunch, prepared by Apple Banquets and Catering, will consist of baked chicken, red-skin parsley potatoes, roasted vegetables, fresh vegetable platters, snacks, dessert and beverages. Prizes will be awarded in several categories for the best circus costumes.

Admission tickets are $6 per person and may be obtained by picking them up at the Coalport, Karthaus, Kylertown, Clearfield, and Mahaffey Centers for Active Living, or at the CCAAA office at 103 N. Front St. in Clearfield.   Tickets must be purchased before 12 p.m. Aug. 9.  Tickets will not be available at the door.

If you have questions, call the CCAAA at 814-765-2696 or 1-800-225-8571.

Programs and services of the agency are funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc., Mature Resources Foundation, and local and consumer contributions.
