Obituary Notice: Mary Blanche Johnson

Mary Blanche Johnson, 89, of Philipsburg died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg. Born Oct. 9, 1923 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late William and Agnes (Flaig) Smith.

On May 17, 1941 in Winchester, VA, she married Lynn W. Johnson, who died Nov. 21, 1985. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lynn Toth and her husband, John of Bushkill and Frances Thompson and her husband, Richard of Philipsburg.

Also surviving are grandchildren, David Toth and Douglas Toth, both of Sussex, NJ and Timothy Thompson and his wife, Shari and Robert Thompson, both of Philipsburg, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and three brothers, William Smith, Louis Smith and Frank “Beanie” Smith.

She was a 1941 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School of Lock Haven. She retired from the former Clasters of Philipsburg.

She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 400 S. Fourth St., Philipsburg, with Fr. Robert J. Kelly as celebrant. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Philipsburg.

Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Friday at the church.
