TYRONE – One of the ways members of the community support Tyrone Hospital is by joining the hospital family as a volunteer.
Members of the Tyrone Hospital family recognized hospital volunteers for hours of service donated to Tyrone Hospital during calendar year 2012 at a special luncheon held recently.
“We are pleased to have members of the community involved in the hospital, helping us fulfill our healing mission,” said Stephen Gildea, chief executive officer at Tyrone Hospital. “They are a very dedicated group of people and they support Tyrone Hospital in a very special way.”
In 2012, 15 volunteers s collectively donated 1,589 hours to support Tyrone Hospital.
Volunteers and their annual and total hours donated were as follows: Frances Hunter of Tyrone–four hours, grand total hours 10,600; Jack Swiderski of Warriors Mark, 300 hours, grand total hours 4,768; Constance Baker of Tipton, 201 hours, grand total hours 1,772; Anna Mae Campbell of Tyrone, 95 hours, grand total hours 1,195; Merle Ammerman of Tyrone, 162 hours, 352 grand total hours ; Brenda Boyles of Tyrone, 162 hours, 296 grand total hours; Bernie Hand of Tyrone, 305 hours, grand total hours 1,231; Lois Carper of Warriors Mark, 47 hours, Diane Colpetzer of Tyrone, 16 hours; Keturah Weaver of Tyrone Area High School, 146 hours; Alyson Eck, 46 hours in 2012, grand total hours 128; Toni Martinez, 25 hours; Angela Taylor of Tipton, 15 hours in 2012 grand total hours 56; and Erik Wagner of Tyrone Area High School, 33 hours.
Jeff Wike of Altoona was also recognized for many hours donated to support events of the Tyrone Hospital Foundation and Tyrone Hospital.
