CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of July 22.

Shaw identified the fugitive as Brandon Hummel, 17, of Main Street, Winburne. Hummel is wanted for failure to appear at a pre-trial conference on July 18.

On March 19, Lieutenant Todd E. Lombardo of the Morris Cooper Regional Police Department filed a petition, charging Hummel with receiving stolen property, prohibited offensive weapons and possession of a firearm by minor. On April 15, Hummel was certified as an adult, and the case was transferred to Clearfield County, Court of Common Pleas, Adult Division.

An affidavit of probable cause filed by Lombardo states that on March 2, the Morris Cooper Regional Police Department received a report of a theft of a firearm. Upon investigation it was found that Hummel had entered into the victim’s residence through a window and had unlawfully removed a .22-caliber handgun and U.S. currency. Upon further investigation, it was found that Hummel had given the handgun to another individual in exchange for synthetic marijuana.

On July 18, Hummel failed to appear for a pre-trial conference, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Hummel is described as a Caucasian male who stands 6 feet, 2 inches tall. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with knowledge of Hummel’s location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
