Clear-Care Corp., a subsidiary of Clearfield Hospital, and DuBois Regional Medical Center, has announced that Gary Schell, M.D., left, and Edward McVay, M.D., are now certified as medical examiners on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.

Schell and McVay are the first two physicians to be certified in Clearfield County. This certification is a new initiative by the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration that requires all medical examiners who wish to perform medical examinations for interstate commercial motor vehicle drivers to be trained and certified in physical qualification standards.

In May of 2014, the state Department of Transportation will only allow commercial drivers to be certified by a NRCME Certified Medical Examiner.

For an appointment with McVay, please call 375-3000. His office is located at 145 Hospital Ave., DuBois. Schell’s office may be reached at 814-765-0221. His office is located at 807 Doctors’ Dr. in Clearfield.

Clearfield Hospital and DRMC are affiliates of Penn Highlands Healthcare.
