Bridge Replacement on Route 350 to begin July 15 near Sandy Ridge

Detour will be in place

PHILIPSBURG – PennDOT reminds area drivers that work to replace a bridge in Rush Township along Route 350 will get under way July 15.

When the work is complete, PennDOT will be able to remove the bridge from the list of structurally deficient bridges in Centre County. The new box culvert will provide area drivers with safer, more efficient travel across a modern structure.

The bridge spans Clover Run, north of the village of Sandy Ridge. The bridge was built in 1930 and is 16 feet long. The overall project will run through Aug. 20 and includes the installation of a new box culvert and paving work on the bridge approaches.

There will be a detour in place July 15-30, with the remaining work done under traffic control. The detour utilizes Route 3049 (State Street/Edendale Road) and Route 3036 (Klondike Road/Phoenix Road) before returning to Route 350. Detour signage will be in place throughout the region to alert drivers to the closure. Local traffic will be able to access homes and businesses along Route 350 during this detour

Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College is the contractor on this $443,000 job.  Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
