DUBOIS – St. Michael Terrace is a place of caring and sharing.  Those words are found in the program from the dedication 30 years ago of St. Michael Terrace senior citizen high-rise in downtown DuBois.

The effort to develop comprehensive senior housing was a long process undertaken by a dedicated and diverse group of volunteers, known as the Council of Human Dignity of DuBois.  After several years, the 103-unit, six-level building was opened in 1982.

The building is a focal point in downtown DuBois, particularly with the recent addition of the DuFast Transit Center.  The Council of Human Dignity is still responsible for the oversight of the facility with management assistance from Glowacki Management from Erie.

Pictured, from the recent reorganizational meeting, are from left, board member Paula Strishock, board member Tom Rubritz, Glowacki – Garrett Shames, Esq., Property Manager Jack Amick, board member Marilyn Camise, Glowacki – Robert Glowacki, board members Betty Wallwork, Kathy Mitchell & Julie Stewart. Not pictured are board members John Yarger, Ed Reich and Jodi August.
