Friday, July 12
PA’s Old Growth
8:30 p.m. – Campground Amphitheater
Old growth forests are some of the most pristine places on Earth. They are a part of the very few places passed over by man and his need for natural resources. Few of these priceless forest stands remain, and those that do need continued protection. Learn about these wonderful places and what is being done to preserve these living treasures for our future.
Saturday, July 13
Alien Invaders
10:30 a.m. – Environmental Education Classroom
Learn about the organisms that come from far away to take over our environment. Learn how to spot and stop these life forms from destroying our natural resources.
Dead Birds of Prey
1 p.m. – Environmental Education Classroom
Live birds of prey programs draw a lot of people, but you can’t get too close to the birds. Here you can feel their feathers and talons, and get to know these flying predators a little better. There will be no problem with you getting just as close as you’d like.
Fye’s Camp Cooking Show with Tom and Marilyn Fye
6 p.m. – Campground Amphitheater
For many, the highlight of going camping is the food. Making breakfast in a paper sack. Baking bread in a box. Making delicious deserts. Guests Tom and Marilyn Fye will show you many different culinary delights that can be created while camping. Put away the hot dogs and come try what you could be making instead, there will be lots of samples.
Sunday, July 14
Stumpfield Trail
2 p.m. – Beach House
Join us as we hike across the park to the Log Slide and Stumpfield Trail Loop. Let’s see what we can find as we look for local flora and fauna! Make sure to wear appropriate footwear.
Tea and Talk
6 p.m. – Beach House steps
Join us as we drink natural, hot sweet fern tea, grown here in the park. As usual, bring your questions about the park, wildlife, or anything else that the Naturalist might be able to answer for you.
