Road (Route 1005) will remain open
STATE COLLEGE – PennDOT has postponed work to replace the Nittany Creek Bridge on Route 1005 (Forest Avenue) in Centre County. The job was to have started on July 8 but has been postponed until later this year. With replacement activity on hold, no detour is necessary and the road will remain open.
The bridge spans Nittany Creek on Route 1005, at the Walker/Marion Township line, about one-and-a-half miles north of the Zion/Route 550 intersection. The bridge was built in 1939, is 15 feet long and carries an average of almost 1,400 vehicles each day.
When work is re-scheduled, PennDOT will issue an updated release, detailing the new work schedule.
