At approximately 1:33 a.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to the business for a motion alarm sounding inside. Upon arrival to the scene, police observed the window and frame had been broken out of the front door of the business.
Police observed a Caucasian male inside the business, and he was taken into custody. He allegedly had more than $1,000 in cash and coins in his pocket along with a socket wrench. He also had a backpack with a cordless power drill inside it.
When interviewed by police, the suspect stated he used the socket wrench to break the window in the door. Then, he used a snow shovel to pry the frame from it to gain entry to the business. The suspect also admitted to stealing the money from inside the business.
The man is facing charges of burglary; criminal trespass; theft by unlawful taking; possessing instruments of crime; and criminal mischief.
