CLEARFIELD – Central Pennsylvania Community Action Inc. (CPCA) has announced it will collect donations for the DuBois flood victims.

Donations will be collected from Monday through 12 p.m. Tuesday at the CPCA office. The CPCA office is located at 214 E. Cherry St., Clearfield. Donations will be taken to 1004 S. Main St., DuBois to the Christian Alliance Missionary Church Food Pantry. From there, donations will be distributed to the DuBois flood victims from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The items needed include: non-perishable food items, such as can goods, cereals, pasta, sauces, boxed foods, canned meats, etc.; paper towels and toilet paper; and cash donations. Clothing and other items are not being accepted at this time.

Businesses and individuals are encouraged to donate and support this local cause, said Stacy LoCastro, executive director of the CPCA.

CPCA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax deductible. Please make any checks payable to the CPCA with a note in the memo to “DuBois Flood Victims.” Money will be used to purchase additional food items to assist victims.

The American Red Cross, Heartland Chapter, has coordinated the efforts of local non-profits, churches, businesses and other interested individuals to join together and support the community. This particular part of the effort is focused on supporting the food needs of the families and individuals that were affected by the recent DuBois flood, said LoCastro

“CPCA provides oversight of the State Food Purchase Program and Temporary Emergency Food Program, which supports portions of the food in the DuBois Ministerium and the DuBois Salvation Army food pantries. Other Food Pantries in DuBois are the Community Care Food Bank and the Christian Alliance Food Bank. Any of these food pantries will be accepting food in the DuBois area, as supplies are down from flooding and increase need from the flood,” she said.

If you have any questions regarding donations for the Clearfield drive, please feel free to contact the CPCA at 814-765-1551.
