CLEARFIELD – Ombudsmen at the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc. (CCAAA) have been working closely with the staff from Colonial Courtyard since Tuesday night’s devastating fire.
CCAAA ombudsmen have contacted other personal care homes in Clearfield and surrounding counties to apprise them of the fire. And, to help expedite the process of relocating all displaced residents, contact information for these facilities and the number of open rooms/beds within each have been provided to Colonial Courtyard administrators.
CCAAA ombudsmen have contacted the Clearfield County Commissioners, the Veterans Affairs Office and the state’s Department of Public Welfare’s Bureau of Human Service Licensing’s Western Regional Office. The DPW is deploying staff to assist with resident relocation on-site.
CCAAA ombudsmen will be available to meet with the residents and their families to discuss relocation options and to ensure that the rights of each resident are respected during this disastrous event.
Once all residents have been relocated, CCAAA ombudsmen will continue to meet with residents to ensure the success of relocation. “Agency personnel are grateful that all residents and staff were safely evacuated without injury or loss of life,” said Camille Luzier, CCAAA ombudsman supervisor. “Anyone with questions regarding this issue should contact the Area Agency on Aging’s ombudsmen program at 814-765-2696.”
