Obituary Notice: Anna Regina (Matier) Rudiak

Anna Regina (Matier) Rudiak, 90, formerly of Madera, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Jerseyville, IL.

She was born Nov. 2, 1922,, a daughter of the late Ignatius and Annie (Valus) Matier.

She was a former parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Madera and a parishioner of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Brighton, IL.  She was employed for 20 years at the former General Cigar Plant, Philipsburg and was member of the Croatian Fraternal Lodge and the First Slovak Union.

On May 3, 1941, in Immaculate Conception Church, Madera, she married George “Fuggie” Rudiak, who preceded her in death on March 18, 1987.

She’s survived by a daughter, Georgianna Roux, and her husband, Dana of Medora, IL; three grandchildren, Katrina, Vanessa and Colleen; and a great-grandson, Cooper.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Kadane and three brothers, Steve, Anthony and Andrew Matier.

Friends will be received from 9 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Madera.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the

Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Fr. Stanley J. Swacha as celebrant.
