CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of June 24.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Michael Blaine Figard, 39, of Lecontes Mills Road, Lecontes Mills. Figard is wanted for failure to appear at a preliminary hearing on June 19.
On May 13 Trooper Marshall Siple of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield barracks, filed a criminal complaint, charging Figard with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of automobiles and other vehicles and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Siple states that on April 29 the Pennsylvania State Police received a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon investigation it was found that the victim’s vehicle had been parked at an automotive repair business in Lecontes Mills, and Figard had unlawfully taken it without the victim’s knowledge or consent.
It was also found the Figard had driven the vehicle to St. Marys and said that a friend had lent him the vehicle. The vehicle was later located on April 30, parked along the northbound lane of state Route 879 in Shawville.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 19, at which time Figard failed to appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Figard is described as a Caucasian male who stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.
Anyone with knowledge of Figard’s location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
