Mary Ann Dixon, 59, of DuBois died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at her residence. Born April 9, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Kicher) Hockman.
On July 27, 2002, she married Wade M. Dixon. He survives.
In March of 2010, she retired as the head cook at Oklahoma Elementary School after working 28 years for the DuBois Area School District.
She attended St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was a volunteer for the DuBois Regional Medical Center Hospice. She served 20 years as the treasurer for the DuBois Area Custodial, Maintenance, & Cafeteria Educational Support Professionals Association (CESPA Union). She was active many years with the Penfield Elementary PTA, serving several terms as president.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Along with her husband, Wade, she enjoyed managing the Dixon Century Farm, tending to her many beautiful flower gardens and going for long drives in her corvette.
She is survived by a daughter, Lu Ann Kunes and her husband, Todd and a son, Dennis Llewellyn, both of DuBois; a step-daughter, Erin Heath and her husband, Patrick of DuBois; and a step-son, Clifford Dixon of Newark, DE.
Also surviving are two sisters, Della Nasuti and her husband, Edward and Susan Bauer and her husband, Perry, both of DuBois; two brothers, Joseph Hockman and his wife, Mary Ann of Osceola Mills and Bernard Hockman and his wife, Sue of Hummelstown; three grandchildren, Brianna, Jack and Nicholas Kunes; and a step-grandchild, Morgan Heath.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home. The rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. David Foradori as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
