TAYLOR TOWNSHIP – A 29-year-old Port Matilda man was jailed Monday on drug-related charges. Four other suspects will soon face charges, according to the state police at Philipsburg.
State police interrupted a drug sale on Hanna Hill Lane in Taylor Township. During the incident, Travis Hammond, 34, of Tyrone tried to flee into a wooded area. He was put in the Blair County Jail on outstanding warrants. In addition, Charles Ball, 29, of Port Matilda was found in possession of bath salts and a large sum of cash.
A search warrant was executed on Ball’s residence, which turned up bath salts, numerous prescription medications and items of drug paraphernalia. The search also turned up electronic items that are believed to be stolen and connected to the sale of illegal drugs.
Ball was arraigned on charges, which include possession with intent to deliver. He was put in the Centre County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail. Charges will be filed on four other suspects in the immediate future.
