Obituary Notice: Raymond Zarecky

Raymond Zarecky, 90, of Mineral Springs died Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born Sept. 2, 1922, the son of Frank and Josephine (Leputa) Zarecky.

Mr. Zarecky had been employed by Harbinson Walker and retired from NARCO. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.

Mr. Zarecky was a member of the Clearfield American Legion.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter, Arthur L. Zarecky of Woodland, Thomas R. Zarecky of Mineral Springs and Mary Ann Smeal and her husband, Gerald of Spring Valley; three grandchildren, Scott Smeal and his wife, Kristen, Kristen Smeal and Carrie McCaulley and her husband, Jon; and three  great-grandchildren, Paige

McCaulley, Matthew McCaulley and Alexa Smeal.

Mr. Zarecky was the last member of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary H. (Blake) Zarecky, whom he married April 30, 1946 and who died Aug. 3, 1986; a sister, Frances Pittman and a brother, Lewis Zarecky.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Sam Maines officiating. Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donors’ choice.
