Olive Ave. Fire Under Investigation in DuBois

fire breaking news graphicDUBOIS – A mother and two, young children are homeless after a fire Saturday at 100 Olive Ave. in DuBois. The fire remains under investigation at this time, the DuBois-based state police reported.

The fire damaged a two-story, wooden-framed commercial building. It originated in a second-floor apartment that was rented to Christina Mowery of DuBois., state police said.

Mowery had two children, a 9-month-old and a 2-year-old; they weren’t at home at the time of the fire. One firefighter sustained minor injuries, state police said.

Damage is estimated at $100,000. The building was owned by Robert Mauthe of DuBois.
