Elmont M. Morrow, 83, of Sandy Ridge died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Altoona Hospital. Born May 25, 1930 in Beaver Valley, he was a son of the late Harry and Bessie (Gates) Morrow.
On Aug. 4, 1986 in Winchester, VA, he married Judy E. (Conklin) Morrow, who survives at home. He is also survived by four daughters, Cathy Reade and her husband, John and Cherrie Gates and her husband, Rick, all of Beaver Valley, Flinton RD, Laura Morrow and her husband, Rob of Sandy Ridge and Amy Royer and her husband, Dan of Clearfield; one son, John Brelo of Hershey, 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was the last of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Allen Morrow, a brother, Vergil Morrow and one sister, Madeline Strayer.
He was a graduate of Coalport-Irvona High School. He was the manager of transportation for Fullington Bus Co. of Philipsburg, from which he retired. He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed boating and gardening.
He was also a member of the Madera Loyal Order of Moose Lodge#1172.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg, with Lay Minister Fred Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
